What does mother always have for me? A story to ease my mind and stop my body from quaking. Sometimes she repeats certain stories. It depends on what I'm up in arms about. It's like this woman is a minister, always ready with a sermon written just for me.
This weekend I got one of my favorite repeats. I call this one Mother's Proof That God is Bigger Than Real. I'm paraphrasing but it goes a little something like this:
Gwei(that's me), you are not lost. You need to get down on your knees and pray. God will hear you. God will answer your prayers. When I was a child and went blind for the first time in my life, how was my sight restored? By the Grace of God. When I came to this country and went blind for the second time in my life and the doctors said I would never see again, how was my sight restored? By The Almighty God. When I got in that car accident and they told me I would never walk again, they said my spinal cord was damaged beyond repair, that I was going to be in a wheel chair for the rest of my life, do you know what I did? I prayed; I called out to God. Have you ever had to wheel me around? No...now get on your knees and let's pray.
Her sermons are short and sweet but the extra long prayers always have me wondering why I never bring knee pads and if everybody's mother prays as long as she does. My mother is a light and her life would make a great movie or novel. #ENDOFSTORY.
